Instructor Bios- Baseball
Dave Griffin
Dave Griffin, former 10yr Pro, has played for the Braves, Yankees, Tigers and has been instructed by respected coaches such as Bobby Cox, Bucky Dent, Sparky Anderson, Cito Gaston and Jim Beachumb. Dave has been instructing for 20 years and his hardline fundamental concept has gone on to produce 26 players that have been drafted professionally and 800+ players that have moved on to the college level. Fourteen years ago, Dave started the Elite Indiana Playmakers which continue to turn out the finest players. Dave was the head coach of the 2004 Bishop Noll Institute State Championship and the 2006 State Runner-ups.
Tom Hansen
Former Ball State college player and Lake Central Baseball coach with 18 years teaching experience. Coached also with the White Sox Training Centers.
Jim Nohos
Jim has been an area coach for 15 years and is known for his pitching expertise. JIm has coached at Andrean, Lake Central and Hanover Central high schools, in addition to the Indiana Playmakers and Hammond Chiefs/Seminoles. Jim begins his 14th year with Dave Griffin's Baseball School.
Anthony Hofer
Anthony is a former St. Francis baseball player and specializes in infield and hitting. Anthony enters his 9th year with Dave Griffin's Baseball School.
Brad Voyles
Brad is a former 11yr Professional player spending 3 years in the Major Leagues with the Kansas City Royals. Brad will be coaching our Indiana Playmaker 12U team. Brad specializes in pitching and hitting.
Ryan Basham
Ryan is a former Indiana Playmaker and Toronto Blue Jays draft choice who enters his 5th year as an instructor. Ryan specializes in hitting. In Dave's opinion, the finest hitter in NWI in the last 20 years.
Angelo Almaguer
Angelo begins his 7th year as an instructor at Dave Griffin's. Angelo specializes in hitting and fielding.
Joel Schmal
Joel begins his 4th year as a pitching instructor. Joel was a former Indiana Playmaker who prepped at Highland HS, South Suburban and Florida Atlantic colleges. Joel played professionally 3 years in an Independent Baseball League.

Michelle Castillo
Michelle is a former Griffith HS head coach and current Asst. Coach at Highland HS. Michelle specializes in softball pitching and is entering her 14th year as an instructor.
Laura Wold
Laura begins her 4th year as an instructor at Dave Griffin's after a successful college career at Wisconsin-Green Bay. Laura specializes in both hitting and pitching.
Leslie Malerich
Leslie joins the staff with an impressive resume. Former Merrillville HS All-State pitcher who went on to play at Florida State. Leslie currently plays in the Italian Professional Softball League. She also played for the Italian Olympic team. She brings a great deal of knowledge in pitching and hitting.
