 Why a College DVD?

Due to financial and sometimes geographic constraints, college coaches and recruiting coordinators can not watch each player interested in attending their school.  A highlight video allows coaches an opportunity to see you and evaluate your skills.  They also do not have to depend on someone's evaluation, which may be biased.  In less than 10 minutes, coaches can learn about a player.  Highlight videos are useful because coaches are unable to watch hours of game footage.

Home Field Photography

Can produce a professional video to show:

  • Mechanics of your swing
  • Fielding and Throwing
  • Pitching Mechanics
  • Your introduction not only shows your physical appearance, but also your ability to present yourself to the coach as a confident student and player.
  • The focus is always on you.  Highlights are used to show exactly where you are in the video.

 Guidelines for Selecting a College

Make a target list of colleges.

  • Identify schools that interest you for academic reasons.
  • Does your academic interest require specialized training or courses?
  • Consider the size of the school you would prefer.
  • Consider the distance from home.
  • Is there a particular conference or division you wish to play in?  Look into colleges within the NCAA, NJCAA, or NAIA.
  • Do you prefer private or public institution or a college with a particular religious affiliation?

Hit the web.

  • Take into account your strengths, level of play, your chance of making the team, and potential playing time.
  • Promote yourself.  Don't wait for college coaches to find you.

Tips to help you succeed.

  • Keep your game on.  Stay in shape year-round, and don't stay away from your training for more than a few weeks.
  • GRADES! GRADES! GRADES!  Work hard to increase your GPA.  Take AP or honor courses.
  • START EARLY.  Don't wait until you are a senior to begin your search for a college.
